Na sequência do sucesso e receptividade obtidos em anos anteriores, é com grande entusiasmo que gostaríamos de o convidar para mais um conjunto de actividades dirigidas à comunidade de arquitectos, agendadas para o primeiro semestre de 2007.

Este ano, decidimos associar os encontros a outros eventos para que, desta forma, possa aproveitar melhor as oportunidades de formação avançada que lhe propomos. Além disso, fruto do profícuo debate de ideias resultante dos anteriores encontros, as nossas propostas têm vindo a especializar-se, sendo hoje mais fácil encontrar sessões destinadas a grupos mais específicos.

Assim, nos próximos dias 22 e 23 de Fevereiro, propomos aos nossos Solutions Architects uma formação SOA com a colaboração da Newtelligence AG. Desta forma, além de apostarmos na qualidade dos oradores, que têm estado envolvidos num projecto nesta área com o governo Alemão, esperamos que o facto de sairmos pela primeira vez de Lisboa, para passar dois dias num Hotel na Curia, possa facilitar o Networking entre os participantes.

Em Março, nos dias 20 e 21, aproveitando que neste ano ocorre a realização do maior evento técnico em Portugal, associamos dois eventos ao TechDays 2007. Assim, propomos aos Infrastructure Architects um conjunto de sessões sobre Virtualization e, para todos os Arquitectos de Software e Decisores, um outro conjunto de sessões sobre Social Networking e a gestão de informação em ambientes empresariais.

Se aceitar o desafio da nossa próxima proposta, sugerimos um encontro à escala europeia, o Architect Insight 2007, que terá lugar nos dias 5 e 6 de Março, no Reino Unido, onde terá oportunidade de participar em grupos de interesse com outros arquitectos desta região.

Industrial Strength .NET 3.0 – Newtelligence

Service Oriented Architecture, Workflow based processes and User Interfaces of the next generation are a few of the hottest and most hyped industry buzzwords. Even if there is a lot of hot air and inflated expectations as with any new technology set, there is indeed a tremendous amount of value in the underlying principles of Service Orientation and appropriate distributed systems architecture including the presentation layer(!).

Enterprises are increasingly adopting these principles for their own in-house development to overcome one of their most pressing issues: Application integration cost and effort. Of course, an enterprise’s commitment to Service Orientation directly impacts their software procurement requirements and mandates that software acquired from ISVs easily fit into the overall picture. Many Enterprises have realized that closed application silos without a rich set of flexible communication endpoints using open communication protocols are hindering their software integration efforts and imposing significant cost.

In this workshop, we will discuss Service Orientation, Principles and implementation guidance for the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 from an ISV angle and will focus specifically on how software products can be written to fit into integrated environments. We will explore how application silos can be (virtually) broken up into layered sets of open services, respecting that ISVs have large existing code-bases that are not easily ripped apart and rewritten.

Vistualization Today and Tomorrow - Ronald Beekelaar

Virtual Machine technology is seeing rapid adoption across the IT lifecycle, changing how IT is done. As the use of virtualization in production data centers accelerates, it is important to understand the impact it will have. How will the technology evolve? Microsoft Architect Insight Conference

Join Microsoft on 5-6 March 2007 at The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Gwent for a two-day architectural retreat designed for senior enterprise, solutions and infrastructure architects, plus CTOs and senior IT decision makers.

You’ll be able to engage in the technology debate with thought-provoking in-depth sessions from customer and partner architects. The agenda is split into seven tracks covering Enterprise, Real World, Identity, Lifecycle, SaaS, Collaboration and Dynamic Systems.

There will be an emphasis on architectural ‘investigation’ through the use of small focus groups, as well as a structured networking clinic where individuals from similar vertical business backgrounds can discuss and work through a particular problem domain.
